ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Electrical safety is everyone's responsibility. Electrical safety should be observed every time you even think about touching something connected to an electrical circuit. In this informative piece, you'll find some great tips to keep you safe when working with electricity.
o Use proper conductor for house wiring by calculating actual load.
o Don't expose electrical appliances & bare wires to wet conditions.
o Use the correct size , ISI make of fuse & never replace the burn-out fuse with other materials.
o Avoid the use of Extension Chords & don't leave them dangling or trailing on the floor.
For households :
(a) Never allow your children to touch any electrical point or insert any part of their body into it.
(b) Allow only licensed Electricians to handle electrical problems.
(c) Always ensure that you are properly insulated from getting electrical shock.
(d) Avoid " Octopus Connections " as overloading might occur due to the same which can cause burning of sockets.
o Educate the children about 'Electrical Signs' & dangers of electric shock .
o Always switch off the Current from the mains in case of short circuit in a portion of premises & insulate yourself.
o Ensure proper earthing in your premises.
o Never insert bare wires in the socket & always remove the plug from the socket when not in use.
o Never climb KSEB poles or electrical towers.
o Stay away from fallen power lines. Tell an adult if you see a fallen line.
o Before you climb a tree, look up. If a power line is nearby or touching, stay away from the tree.
